Upper Primary Year Level Coordinator’s Message

Term 2 was surely a very busy term and we take pleasure and pride in sharing news of our recent activities.

Some of the excursions this term included ones to the Melbourne Museum and IMAX (Year 4) a visit to Sovereign Hill (Year 5) and one to the Chinese Museum (Year 6).

There was also a wonderful incursion from St John’s Ambulance who ran a first aid session for all students in primary school.

I would like to make an important reminder about homework. We believe homework is an important part of the learning process for students. In Semester 1, I became concerned with some students complaining that they did not have Internet access at home for completing online Mathletics and Reading Eggs tasks. In such cases, students should access computers either in our own library or at a local library. These online tasks are hurdle tasks and we expect students to do their best in completing them. We also expect students to do their own work and only ask for help after they have given it their best effort. We strongly encourage parents to get involved in supporting their child’s homework activities. Please check and sign the outline on the homework booklet each night. If students do not present their homework weekly, we expect them to have a note from parents.

Thank you for your ongoing support. Wishing you all a happy and safe break!

Kind regards,
Ms Esra Yildirim-Bas
